These are our currently active organizing groups:
Members in our Food & Retail Workers Network build links between people working at different stores and teach one another how to organize for better treatment, conditions and pay in their industry, as well as for phasing out the sale of toxic or otherwise unethical products.
Going to school? So are we! Our students organizing council consists of students enrolled in classes at area educational institutions. Our goal is to help similarly aligned students network, discuss and share organizing lessons and resources. If you are a student looking to build student power in the Sacramento/Placer/Yolo/Solano county area, we can help! Reach out and let’s connect. We have free printing for the right stuff.
Our Public Services Committee includes healthcare and education workers as well as other public service providers. Together we can secure needed resources to have top-notch public services, pay our public service workers well, and fight to make more essential services (especially healthcare) free for individuals.
Sacramento IWOC is our local branch of the Incarcerated Workers Organizing Committee (IWOC for short) that helps the incarcerated population in the state of California and across the nation self-organize.
Our Mutual Aid Committee supports a range of local projects to help people survive despite facing dispossession and direct attacks.
